First Light, First Trust
A new year dawns, and the world rushes toward you: screens glowing, children stirring, even your pet waiting for your touch. But before you give yourself away, pause. Let Scripture be the first light you touch. Breathe out gratitude. Breathe in trust. Say, “Lord, thank You for my life. I trust that You are working all things together for the ultimate good,” as Romans 8:28 declares.
As you linger in that moment, let God’s presence fill your spirit. Start with the book of Psalms and read each line slowly, with intention, savoring each word as life‑giving. Allow the Word to become part of you—speak it aloud, let it settle in your heart, and make it personal.
Let His Word become the anchor in your mind that steadies your thoughts and quiets the noise around you. As you read each verse, ask God to reveal its meaning and show you how it applies to your life. Pray and invite God to shape your day and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you step by step, moment by moment.
Start this year by giving God your first glance, your first “I love You,” your first act of sacrifice. When you begin with Him, everything else finds its rightful place, and your day can unfold from a place of peace rather than pressure.
Memory Verse: Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
