When God’s Plan Is Better Than the Board

Posted February 02, 2026

Scripture:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Vision boards give us language for our hopes. They help us name what we desire, what we’re working toward, and what we’re believing for. But there comes a moment when God invites us to hold those visions loosely—and trust Him more deeply.

Surrendering to God’s plan doesn’t mean we stop dreaming. It means we stop assuming we know the best way those dreams should unfold. God sees beyond what we can imagine, beyond timelines, outcomes, and expectations we’ve carefully arranged. His plans aren’t limited by what we can visualize.

Sometimes the tension we feel isn’t because we lack faith—but because God is reshaping our definition of success. He may redirect, delay, or even dismantle what we thought we wanted, not to disappoint us, but to develop us and lead us toward something better.

When we surrender our plans, we’re not giving up—we’re trading control for trust. We’re saying, “God, I believe You know me better than I know myself, and I trust You to lead my life with wisdom and love.”

This season, let God’s plan be greater than any goal we set. Let obedience outweigh aesthetics. Let trust replace pressure. And let surrender become the vision that shapes everything else.

Reflection:
What dream, goal, or expectation might God be asking you to place fully in His hands?

Prayer:
God, I release my plans and my timelines to You. I trust that Your ways are higher and Your plans are better than anything I could design on my own. Lead me, shape me, and help me surrender daily to what You are doing in my life. Amen.
