Job Title: Part-Time Assimilation and Connection Coordinator, Antioch Baptist Church

Position Summary:
The Assimilation and Connection Coordinator play a vital role in supporting the mission of Antioch’s Assimilation and Connection (AC) ministry. This position helps ensure that first-time guests, new members, and current members feel welcomed, cared for, and connected to the life of the church. By managing key administrative tasks, coordinating communication, and facilitating ministry connections, this role strengthens our ability to walk alongside individuals as they grow in relationship with Christ and community.
This role supports Antioch’s vision of being a Christ-centered, six-generation church that is Charitable, Adaptive, Relational, Evangelizes, and Serves (C.A.R.E.S.) by cultivating a welcoming environment, strengthening relational connections, and facilitating meaningful integration into worship, discipleship, and service.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to: Director of Assimilation Connection Team (ACT)
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
-
Partner with Multimedia to maintain accurate records in the Shelby database that support new member care and follow-up.

Update new member profiles and generate monthly new member reports to celebrate and track growth in the body.

Follow up on inquiries from first-time guests in coordination with the AC team.

Manage and communicate the weekly Guest Services, Next Steps and Usher Ministry volunteer schedule.

Oversee supplies for all AC teams, ensuring volunteers are equipped to serve with excellence.

Coordinate AC requests for planned visits, membership information, special services (Baptism and dedications).

Coordinate Next Steps monthly movements – logistics for baptism, orientation, and Right Hand of Fellowship – to move new members to active membership status.

Assist in coordinating ACT new member events and internal team fellowships and recognitions.

Supports team objectives and special projects as needed.
Communication

Respond warmly and promptly to new member requests received online.

Provide regular updates to the AC team regarding requests for support and upcoming ministry opportunities.

Partner with the Multimedia team to share information and stories through advertisements, in-service slides (Baptism, Right Hand of Fellowship), and social media posts.

Support the development and maintenance of AC’s presence on the Antioch website as a tool for connection and outreach.
Ministry Connection

Communicate with ministry leaders and team leads about new and current member placement in ministries.

Provide monthly reports that reflect how members are engaging in service and community.

Manage Connect Your Gifts team which serves as a bridge between members and ministries, helping ensure every member finds a place to use their gifts.

Liaison with Ministry Services to support opportunities to place emphasis on ministries, especially those who have critical needs for volunteers and team leads.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

2–5 years of experience in church ministry, nonprofit, or customer/guest services preferred

Experience with volunteer coordination and event or program management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and relational skills

Excellent organizational and administrative abilities

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through consistently.

Proficiency with database systems and basic office software

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment (staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders)

Proficient in virtual collaboration and asynchronous communication

VI. WORK SCHEDULE & EXPECTATIONS

Part-time 20 hours per week in person and remote
-
Available for weekend events and key church events.
VII. COMPENSATION
Compensation will be commensurate with experience

Annual: $21,000 – $27,000 (20 hrs./week)

Hourly Equivalent: $20 – $25/hr.
